Charles Hope Nicolson, had to be replaced after the
Euroa robbery. “What
particularly upset Nicolson was the flashness apparent in the younger
generation. He saw it as evidence of youngsters who imagined all
that mattered in life was to ride from place to place and enjoy
themselves. His aim was to “take the flashness out of the
Kellys” and rob them of the prestige he considered held them
together.” |
